Career Guidance & Aspirations

The Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College is committed not only to meeting the statutory requirements, but to raising awareness of careers, employability, and work related learning amongst all pupils. Careers advice and guidance enables our girls to make the correct choice of courses, and to be well informed of what decisions they need to make in the interests of their potential careers.  Careers’ is supported within the Convent through a Careers Guidance Leader and an Oxbridge/Russell Group Universities Mentor. This support is available to all girls from Year 8 through to Year 13. An extensive programme of work related learning is in place and we have effective industry links to provide a realistic impression of the world of work.

Alumni –

Please help us to build up our Directory

The CJM Alumni enables current sixth form students to make contact via email with former students of the Convent to access help and advice from people who understand what they are experiencing.

It also enables former students to share news of their progress and to inspire students about the possibilities open to them.

We would like to build a database of past students via an alumni database at the Convent – we would welcome alumni who are still at university, out on gap years, undertaking postgraduate training/education and others, who will now be established in the world of work.

  • If you would be happy to share your news and experiences with current students or
  • If you would be happy to offer a work experience placement to a Year 10/6th form student or
  • If you don’t mind students emailing you to seek advice about their choice of university, course or career (we do not give your address or telephone number out to students – this is for our use only), then you are definitely an Alumni member.

As a former student, you are a wonderful role model - so I hope you will be happy to join our ever-growing group of alumni. Your experiences of higher/further education, travelling and/or the labour market will be invaluable!

Please complete the information on the form below and return toblawrence101@cjmlc.co.uk or complete the survey online by clicking on the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2TKH39T

Thank you!
