Chaplaincy
The Chapel
The Chapel is a place of prayer at the heart of our school. It is a place of calm and quiet, an oasis in our busy environment. It is always available for students and staff to take some quiet time for prayer and reflection.
The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the Tabernacle, keeping Christ present at the heart of our community. In the chapel stands a statue of Our Lady of Willesden, connecting us with our local parish, the Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden, and to the ancient Catholic heritage of this country. This reminds us of St. Claudine’s values – Love of Jesus and Mary.
Stations of the Cross are arranged around the walls of the chapel, a Paschal candle stands near the altar and a Book of the Dead, compiled each November for the month of the Holy Souls, commemorates the names of the loved ones of members of our community who have died.
St. Claudine’s House
St Claudine’s House, is our onsite retreat centre, opened by Cardinal Basil Hume in 1998. St. Claudine’s is a well-resourced and comfortable space, hosting retreat days, reflections and workshops and regular lunchtime groups.
The Chaplain
The Chaplain is full time and available to support both staff and students. The Chaplain is part of the Liturgy team, planning and coordinating liturgies and Masses across the school. The Chaplain coordinates the majority of our fundraising and charitable efforts during the school year and the Fairtrade Group.
